The Sherpa villages of Helambu lies on the north of Kathmandu valley presents an easy getaway. This area because of its low elevation and the Sherpa villages make it an interesting 6 day loop. Starting with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal the trail to Helambu climbs on to the Shivapuri ridge from where there are sweeping views of the central Himalayas. During the journey, this trek offers moderate types of tea house accommodation however they are improving themself every year. Following a ridge-line the trek heads north to Thare Pati before turning east to Melemchi Gaon and Tarke Gyang the principle villages of this area. From here visit Shermathang before descending to the Melamchi river to end of trek with a drive Melamchi Bazaar back to Kathmandu.
Suggested itinerary: 10 Days
Day 1: Receive you on the Kathmandu Airport then transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley such as Swayambhunath stupa, Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Kopan gompa. transfer back to hotel and in the evening brefing about the helambu tours.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Chisapani. Stay in lodge
Day 4: Chisapani – Kutumsang. Stay in lodge
Day 5: Kutumsang- Tharepati. Stay in lodge
Day 6: Early morning we recommend the interested people hike up to View point for the view of Dorje Lakpa and Sishapangma then trek down all the way to Tharepati then to Melamchi Gaon. Stay overnight in Sherpa lodge
Day 7: Melamchi Gaon- Gangjwal. Stay in lodge
Day 8: Gangjwal –Kakani. Stay in lodge
Day 9: Kakani- Melamchi Pull Bazar. sightseeing around and drive back to kathmandu.
