This Trek offers printine lakes, beautiful alpine forests and meadows, as well as two centers of Tibetan religious culture. The best time for the trek is from mid-May to mid - October. Summer can be wet but the
mountains are at their greenest and wild flowers spangle the alpine meadows. Before you start the trek you need a couple of days in Lhasa to acclimatize. During this trek focusing the environs by Samye Monastery. This pilgrimage route is well traversed by Tibetans who find it convenient to combine a visit to Gandan (the principal monastery of the Gelugpa sect) with a reasonably direct, albeit hard walk to Samye, Tibet's first monastery.

Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa. Altitude: 3,658m get transferred to Lhasa city and acclimatize. Overnight in Lhasa
Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing. Visit Potala Palace , Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street. Overnight in Lhasa
Day 03: Lhasa sightseeing. Visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Overnight in Lhasa
Day 04: Lhasa-Ganden Altitude: 3,658m - 4,500m Est. Distance: 60km, about 1.5 hour's driving Road Conditions: tar road, then bumpy mountain road approaching Ganden Visit Ganden Monastery . Overnight in monastery guest house
Day 05: Ganden-Hepu-Yama Do. Trekking 5-6 hours, 17km. Camping
Day 06: Yama Do-Tsotup Chu Valley. Trekking 5-7 hours, 10km. Camping
Day 07: Tsotup Chu Valley-Herders' Camp. Trekking 5 hours, 14km. Camping
Day 08: Herders' Camp-Nyamgo-Samye.Trekking 5-6 hours, 9km. Overnight in Samye guesthouse
Day 09: Samye-Yongbulakang-Tsedang. Altitude: 3,600m est. Distance:150km, about 2.5 hours' driving Road Conditions: gravel road Visit the first palace Yongbulakang, than back to Tsedang. Overnight in Tsedang
Day 10: Leave Lhasa. Get transferred to the airport/train station and leave.
