World Heritage Sightseeing / Tour in Nepal
 
Nepal world Heritage site, Bhaktapur durbar squaresIn Nepal, we have ten world heritage sites listed by UNESCO, out of which, seven cultural heritage sites are located inside Kathmandu valley within the distance of 20 km, which are as; Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath, Swyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar square, Patan Durbar square, Bhaktapur Durbar square and Changunarayan temple. The eighth cultural site is the sacred place in Lumbini also known as the birth place of Gautam Buddha, which is outside the kathmandu valley. The rest of two are natural world heritage sites, as; Sagarmatha National Park and Royal Chitwan National Park.
Pashupati Nath Temple: Pashupatinath Temple is considered as one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world. The richly-ornamented pagoda structure lies 5 km east of the city center and is situated amidst many other temples on the right bank of the holy river Bagmati. It is a double–roofed golden temple with four triple silver doorways. This holiest temple covers an area of 281 hectares, which is one of the biggest temple complexes in Nepal....More info...
 
Boudhanath Sutpa: Bouddhanath Stupa lies about 6 km to the east of the city center and is one of the largest stupa in South Asia. It looms 36 meters high and presents as one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design, which was renovated by Licchavi rulers in the eighth century. Swayambhunath Stupa: The holy structure with a thirteen tiered golden spire in conical shape surmounted over the big white dome which represents the spotless pure jewel of Nirvana stands over a typically stylized lotus mandala base is believed to be originated from a primordial lake whose establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu Durbar Square: This is one of the most popular tourist destination enlisted in World Heritage Sites. Patan Durbar Square: Patan Durbar Square is an enchanting melange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. Changu Narayan Temple:Changu Narayan is a pagoda-style Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu in his incarnation as Narayan. Lumbini:Lumbini, the place where the Buddha was born in 623 BC, is situated in the Terai plains of southern Nepal. The nativity site is marked by a stone pillar erected by Indian Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC. Listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO, Lumbini is being developed with international support as the supreme Buddhist pilgrimage and a symbol of world peace. The sacred garden where the Buddha was born converges on the Ashoka Pillar which carries an inscription identifying the spot as the birthplace.
