The Numbur cheese circuit trek is situated in the Ramechap district and is a very less demanding, camping trekking route in Nepal. Numbur is a glaciated mountain located in the Rolwaling Himal mountain range of Nepal. The 6,958 meters high Numbur is located 43 km southwest of Mount Everest, on the border of the Janakpur and Sagarmatha zone.
The trail passes through some of the most beautiful deep stream gorges, glacial ponds. Furthermore, beautiful terraced rice fields, subtropical forests, and Sherpa villages to the Likhu Khola glacier watched over by the towering peaks of Pathibarra and Numburchuli.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast plan. Our representative will brief you numbur circuit trek plan information.
At morning, meet the entire crew and drive to shivalaya. Along the drive, you can relish the beautiful view of colorful green hills, tiny typical villages and snow covered mountains. Shivalaya is a gateway to discover Numbur Cheese Circuit, which is located alongside of Khimti River. Overnight in tented camp/lodge.
During the trek today, you can experience the view of terraced pastures and falls to go through the river, and then turns sharply up the cliff on the other part. Khahare is a tiny typical village populated only in winter, by residents of higher altitudes, who move up with their cattle in the summer season. After lunch, we continue our walking journey to Panipakakha, the first campsite of our trek. It is a temperately plain camping area in the scattered Chauri sheds with lofty alpines. Today the track goes through a tiny Sherpa inhibitants called Phokte village. The path mounts through the majestic rhododendron forests to the summertime fields of Maanedanda. As we arrive on Maanedanda, it has a rudimentary cookery shelter and space for shelter tents. On a clear day, the view from here is stunning. Overnight at tented camp.
Today, we hike to panch Pokhari which is represents for five holy lakes at an altitude of 4,200m with Lord Shiva temple. We ascents to Jata Pokhari. Along with the high altitude, we walk across the high pasture forest of Sunpati, with rare herbal plants. Right before we reach Jata Pokhari, we come across a beautiful cascade where we can play with the freshwater. Located in the lap of Mount Numbur chuli, Jata Pokhari is a famous pilgrimage lake in the Ramechhap district. June and July months within full moon days, hundreds of Hindu believers come to worship Lord Shiva and take a ritual bath. As we reach Panch Pokhari, where we stay overnight.
We cross about 4,600m pass and trek downhill to reach Tare. On our way, we will walk through Khola Kharka and hike further downward to Nupche River passing over dense bamboo woods. You can have some fresh cheese here and observe the cheese-making process in this cheese factory. We can rest in the green pasture on the bank of the Nupche River before heading to our campsite.
We hike from Linkhu Khola valley is challenging but extremely rewarding. You can enjoy the view of the beautiful hills and mountains, dwindling rivers. The views of mountains are stunning from the north into Tibet as we go through the Gyajo La Pass 4880m, also known as Thulo Lapcha at 4,880m, a path normally used by local Sherpas to get yaks through the peaks to Rakhidanda & Ngeju.
Today, we continue our travel from Ngeju to Lahaksewar (also known as Sewar), one of the most remarkable Sherpa community of the upper Ramechap area. You will be warmly welcomed by local Sherpa hospitality. The Locals here still live in harmony with age-old culture and tradition which adds more fun on your trips.
We ascend from Lahaksewar to Kyama passing dense forest. The journey offers majestic view of Numbur chuli and Pathibhara. Leaving the shiny Numburchuli in the back, we now bid goodbye to the mountains as we depart from Kyama to reach Gumdel. Gumdel has a nice home stay. Stay overnight.
From Gumdel, we continue our walk crossing dense but beautiful forest to arrive at Serding. One can enjoy the beautiful scenery of sub-alpine and temperate forest with the Gauri Shanker and Numburchuli in the background. We can relish on some yak cheese here as well and go through the process of making it.
Today we visit Thodung Monastery on our way back. Trek further goes downhill to Deurali from where we can see the breathtaking view of the Gauri Shankar Mountain. On reaching Lapchane, We will Homestay at a local Newari house where you will be able to be a part of the renowned Newari culture. We can go for a brisk hike to Tam danda, famous as the tallest hill in Ramechhap to observe the great view of Dhaulagiri, Gauri Shanker, Annapurna, Numbur, Kanchenjunga, and more.
Trek to Those where we spend a peaceful evening, resting or exploring the wilderness once again. We will bid goodbye to this wonderful trek and prepare for a long drive to Thamel, Kathmandu on next morning.
Drive back to Kathmandu with jeep again, takes roughly around 9 hours. Once again, you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful view of villages, hills and mountains, dwindling rivers on your way back.
