Helambu Trekking detail itinerary
Visiting Helambu is a classical trek itinerary compared to most walks in this region leading up to the high Thadepati hill station. The particular route is designed for world travelers who wish to walk within a more relaxed manner than take a look at this itinerary.Day 1 Arrived at Kathmandu valley. Transfer to hotel
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu within B/B plan. Our representative will brief you about your trip.
In the morning after breakfast, we start our day trip visiting world heritage sites located in Kathmandu city which includes Boudhanath Stupa (also known as the oldest stupa of Nepal), Pasupatinath temple (holy temple of Hindu where cremation takes place by the holy river Bagmati), Later we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Syambhunath Stupa. And transfer to hotel.
Chisapani area trekking or tour conducts from Sundarijal Bazaar, where there’s a small dam and a hydroelectricity station in the northeast corner of the Kathmandu valley. The walk leads to a climb through wet, subtropical forest to an oak forest and on to Mulkharka, a scattered Tamang village.
The trail again ascends through oak forest to a pass called Borlung Bhanjyang and walk downhill to get Chisopani village. Chisapani offers fabulous panoramic views of the Jugal mountain range including Langtang, Ganesh in the far east and Manaslu, Annapurna towards far west. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Trek to kutumasang trail continues to drop from Chisapani on a good, sometimes level trail that crosses meadows and fields. Patibhanjyang is on a saddle at the bottom of the ridge at 1,770m. This is a Brahming and Chhetri village with a few shops and hotels.
The trail heads north out of the Patibhanjyang along the forested ridge and then descends to a large chorten, the Tamang village of Gul Bhanjyang. Besides that, the trail climbs the ridge from Gum Bhanjyang to another pass at 2,620m. From the pass one can look back over Gul Bhanjyang at the bottom. The trail then descends to Kutumasang at 2,470 meters for the overnight stay.
The trail climbs above Kutumasang on a steep, eroded trail, mostly through fir and rhododendron forests where there are no permanent settlements. Furthermore, we ascend to Magen Goth (3,150 m) and finally reach at Tharepati hill. Therepati hill station offers scenic Himalayan view of almost complete Langtang range.
We continue east descending steeply down a ravine. The vegetation changes to large firs, then to oaks and rhododendron. Crossing a stream on a suspension bridge, the trail makes a short final climb to reach the prosperous Sherpa village Melachigaon (2,530m).
From Melamchigaon, the trail continues to descend to the Melamchi river. Once across the suspension bridge, the trail begins climbing up the other side of the valley towards Tarkeghyang. It is a long climb to this picturesque village at 2,600m, situated on a shelf high above the river. Tarkeghyang is the largest village in Helambu and the destination for the most trekkers in this region. It is a good place to rest and stay overnight.
From Tarkeghyang, the trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty village of Gangjwal at around 2,500m. The trail drops down from the edge of the ridge but then continues at the same altitude along the side of the ridge crossing a number of streams, waterfalls and landslides. Finally, it reaches Talamarang where we stay overnight.
Early morning we take a local bus (private vehicle cost an extra) back to Kathmandu city. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives
Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends. Wish you your wonderful journey!!!
