Continues to loom massively at the foot of the valley. Beyond Tangbe we reach Chhusang Village and crosses the river, continue climbing north up the trail to a huge red chunk of conglomerate that has fallen from the cliff above forming a tunnel through which the Kaligandaki follows. The trek now leaves the Kaligandaki valley and climb steeply up a rocky gully to chele at 3030 meter.
The climb continues along step, treeless, waterless terrain, along the side of the spectacular steep canyon to pass and cairn of rock at 3540m. Then the trail makes a long gradual descent to some chortens on a ridge, and then the trail descends further on a pleasant trail to Samar. The Annapurna, still dominated by Nilgiri, is visible far to the south. Climb above Samar to a ridge, then descend into a large gorge and the trail goes into another valley field, crosses a stream and climbs up to a ridge at 3800 meter. After crossing a steel bridge of the Tangmar chu (river), we will arrive to a MANI (Prayer WALL) perhaps the longest and most spectacular stretch and main wall in Nepal. Climbing over another pass at 3600 meter the route makes a long gentle descent to Charang. The huge five stock white Dzong and red Gompa is an interesting visit to observe collections of statues and Thankas as well as many large paintings of seated Buddha.

Besides Lo-Manthang there is two other interesting valleys worth visiting. The western valley Tingkhar, the sight of Raja’s summer palace, Kimling and Phuwa as well as the Gompa of Namgyal (The Monastery of Victory) is the newest and most active Gompa in Lo. In the eastern valley lies the Chosar village has chosar cave and the valley is the main trading route to Lhasa.

This place is famous for black ammonite fossils found hereabouts. Hindus and Buddhists collect these fossils to worship in their belief that it is the embodiment of God Vishnu.
We leave Yara along a high winding path. This soon leads down to the Dhechaeng river which runs from the Damodar Kund. Buddhist inhabitants and are mostly busy in local businesses; the small foot hills roll away to distance horizons sheltering the villagers from the gentle winds coming in from the valley. From the village you turn your face to the north and we see some sandy cliffs over several hundred years old. Finally, we find the small Tangbe village here.
We leave with our pack lunch because of the long distance compared to the other days. We climb some steps & then crossing over a suspension bridge following the trail to right side. We Soon come to the Yak river before climbing a terraced hill to PA at 4,210m, it is the highest point of the Upper Mustang trip, takes about 2:30 hours. From the summit, you can observe the great view of Damodar Himal and Saribung Himal at (6,346m). The main trail continues along the flat land to left after one and a-half hour walking; its now time to find a spot for lunch at PA. Now the trail descends down hill, right in time, you are able to see right down the mud roof valley that is your destination of the day. This is the village which we call Chhuksang or Tetang.
Today, gradually we trek up till Gyu La pass 4,077m. It is one of those beautiful days and we take it easy on our walk.
