Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu bed with breakfast plan. Our representative will give you information about further programs.
Drive to Pokhara by tourist bus. Between on the way we will see the natural beauty like Trisuli river which is most popular in Nepal for rafting and we will follow the way almost bank of the Trisuli and Marsyandi River when we arrive in Pokhara transfer to hotel.
Early flight to Jomsom located an an altitude of 2720m / 8,894 ft. You will be land on District headquarters of Mustang and will start trek to Kagbeni, the starting point of the Upper Mustang, where you can make your eyes busy for The spectacular views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak and Dhampus. Kagbeni is the most interesting typical Tibetan village and the entry point of the upper Mustang for overnight stop. Overnight camping at Kagbeni.
The trail leads up toward the east bank of the Kaligandaki that climbs over many ridges as it heads north and reaches Tangbe Village. The town is amongst whitewashed house, fields of buckwheat, barley, wheat, and apple orchards. The Nilgiri peak dominates the southern skyline of Kagbeni. Continuously climbing north up the trail where the Kaligandaki follows, then trek now leaves the Kaligandaki valley and climb steeply up to Chele.
The climb continues along step, treeless, waterless terrain, along the side of the spectacular steep canyon to pass and cairn of rock at 3540m. Gradual descent to some chortens on a ridge, and then the trail descends further on a pleasant trail to Samar. The Annapurna, still dominated by Nilgiri, is visible far to the south. Climb above Samar to a ridge, then descend into a large gorge and the trail goes into another valley field, crosses a stream and climbs up to a ridge at 3800m. The route climbs sharply up and down over a series of high passes, before the final downhill to Geiling.
From Geling, the trail climbs gently to the interesting pass on our trek NYILA and descends below the blue, gray and red cliffs. After crossing a steel bridge of the Tangmar chu (river), we will arrive to a MANI (Prayer WALL) perhaps the longest and most spectacular stretch and main wall in Nepal. Climbing over another pass at 3600 meters the route makes a long gentle descent to Charang. The huge five stock white Dzong and red Gompa is an interesting visit to observe collections of statues and Thangkas as well as many large paintings of seated Buddha.
The trail descends about 100 meters down from Charang, crosses the Charang – Chu and climbs steeply up a rocky trail to a cairn on a ridge and continues to climb. Finally, from a ridge at 3850m. There is a view of the walled city of LO. After a short descent, cross a stream then climb up into the plateau of Lo- Manthang.
Another day in Lo – Manthang gives you the chance to explore its many sights; the Tall Champa Lakhang (God house,) the red Thugchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the Raja’s Palace; as well as to gaze at the surrounding panoramic views of the Tibetan Plateau and the Himalaya. Besides Lo-Manthang there is two other interesting valleys worth visiting. The western valley Tingkhar, the sight of Raja’s summer palace, Kimling and Phuwa as well as the Gompa of Namgyal (The Monastery of Victory) is the newest and most active Gompa in Lo. In the eastern valley lies the village of Chosar, also rich in gompas and the valley is the main trading route to Lhasa.
This is an opportunity to visit two other villages on your return trek. The trail climbs steadily to the pass marked by a cairn, offering a last glimpse of Lo-Manthang. We cross the highest pass this trek and arrive in Ghar Gompa (3,920 Meters). This monastery is very old and older than Samye monastery in Tibet, supposed to be built around 730AD. After crossing the pass around 4100m than we descend down to the way in Dhakmar (3,520m) where we fix our campsite for stay overnight.
From Dhakmar the way goes down to until Ghami (3,460m) the huge greenery village in Mustang where we can see the ancient monastery and stupas with. You can see the local houses here like cave. Than after the trail goes ascend until Nyi La pass and descend to Samar through the same route. We fix our camp for stay overnight here.
Today is our one of the toughest day of the trip. We climb up for a while and walk through the villages to Muktinath. This route is very popular for the Fossil stone “Saligrams” mainly between Tetang to Gyu La Pass 4,077m. It also offers the 140 Degree panoramic view of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Himalayan range. Accommodation is depended upon your request, either lodge. Muktinath is a holy place both for Hindu and Buddhist people. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and has 108 waterspouts around it. Another attraction nearby is the Jwala Mai Temple which has a gorgeous natural spring and an eternal flame fueled by natural gas. You will have also a panoramic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and it`s surrounding peaks.
Today is another challenging day for us to ascend up to the Thorong la summit (5,416m above sea level) roughly takes about 5 hours. It is recognized as the world’s widest pass of the Himalayas. You will have almost the best view of whole trekking and the Himalayas you can see within 360 deg angle. However, some problems may arise due to the altitude and snow. It often causes terrible problems to cross over thorong la if it is covered by heavy snow. This should be a lifetime unforgettable experience for trekkers. An early start is important to complete the mission. Descend downhill walking to get phedi through rocky mountains and grassy trails.
Our descent continues through the Marshyangdi Valley to Manang village, home to the legendary Yeti. There are so many side trips either visiting Tilicho Lake (5100 m) known as world’s highest lake, Ice lake, Gangapurna Lake and Gangapurna glacier and more.
From Manang village, we take further to Braga village where you can experience one of the oldest monastery which is build by Dalai Lama around 500 years ago. From here to chame we take easy trial passing Humde Airport and Pisang village. Today, we come across traditional villages of the ethnic Manangis people. Waiting here is the 360 degrees panorama of Himalayan peaks: Mount Annapurna mountain range including Mt.Gangapurna, Mt. Tilicho, Mt, Manaslu, Thorong Peak, Annapurna 4, Annapurna 3 and Annapurna 2. From here, we continue our journey to Chame where we stay overnight.
The trail passes small villages, can see short glimpse of Mt. Manaslu and other snow peaks and drop down to Danque through the knee crunching trail and have a lunch. After lunch, walk on the level and flat trail until reaching Dharapani.
We descend down along the Marsyangdi River passing several villages and bridges. Tal is nice sandy and flat land offers great landscapes and beautiful waterfall. During the journey over rocky mountain trail, there is also another nice waterfall next to chamje village. Than we reach at jagat village.
We descend down through the rocky trail until reaching Syange where we can see very picturesque water fall about 200 meter. Then, pass the water fall and continue along the Marsyangdi River until reaching Bulbhule following the road trail for short-cut. It takes about 5 hours to reach and enjoy the last evening gathering- celebration with your crew.
Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and during the route will stop in Besisahar to change bus than drive continue of roughly 6 hours we reach at the hotel in Kathmandu. Rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at hotel.
