Gokyo Treks Agency takes pride in providing friendly and knowledgeable tour guides to make your journey unforgettable. Our guides are well-trained in altitude sickness management and carry first-aid kits, including Oximeters to monitor oxygen levels and pulse rates. This ensures safety at high altitudes.
Beyond guiding, our team is committed to preserving nature carrying our trash and dispose of it responsibly at designated collection points. Many of our guides were born and raised in the mountains, giving them a deep understanding of the terrain. Their expertise ensures a safe and enriching trekking experience.
Mr. Ammar Raj Guni (Founder)

Namaste! I’m Ammar Raj Guni, born and raised in the beautiful Langtang region in Nepal. As an entrepreneur with an MBS degree from Tribhuvan University, I’m deeply committed to promoting sustainable tourism within dynamic travel industry in Nepal.
My journey in tourism began in 1998 as a trekking porter. Two years later, I earned my Trekking Guide License from NATHM, officially stepping into the world of professional guiding. After completing three years of undergraduate studies, I pursued further training and achieved certification as a City Tour Guide , expanding my expertise in tourism sector in Nepal.
Over time, guiding travelers through the breathtaking landscapes and diverse cultures strengthened my passion for travel. This passion led me to establish Gokyo Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. in 2005, a company devoted to providing exceptional trekking and adventure experiences.
To broaden my perspective, I traveled across Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and India. These journeys helped me understand global tourism trends and build meaningful international partnerships.
My mission is simple yet profound — to preserve our natural beauty and cultural heritage for generations to come. As a responsible tourism entrepreneur, I focus on eco-friendly and community-based travel that benefits local people while enriching travelers’ experiences. Som Bahadur Shrestha
Trekking Experts Guide

Som Bahadur Shrestha has been part of the tourism industry since 2005, working with Gokyo Treks and Expedition. Born and raised in Nuwakot, a district in the Langtang Himalayan region, he developed a deep connection with the mountains from an early age.
With extensive expertise in trekking, tours, and peak climbing, Som started his career as field staff, gaining hands-on experience in nature hikes and travel activities. Over the years, he expanded his knowledge of tourism services, eventually becoming a professional tourist guide.
In 2008, he completed the Trekking Guide training course organized by Ministry of Tourism in Nepal. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University. To enhance his guiding skills, he traveled to Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Som is actively involved in environmental awareness programs led by community development foundations. He also supports nonprofit organizations that provide aid to underprivileged communities, demonstrating his commitment to both sustainable tourism and social responsibility.
Kamal Bahadur Khatri
Guide in the Himalaya

Mr. Kamal Bahadur Khatri, originally from Sindhupalchok district of Nepal, is a highly experienced trekking guide and professional cook with Gokyo Treks & Expedition. Since beginning his career as a trekking guide in 2005, he has gained extensive expertise in both guided treks and camping-based cooking across Nepal and the Tibet Himalayas.
In 2008, Mr. Khatri completed professional training at the National Academy for Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), earning his government-certified trekking guide license along with a food and beverage course certification. Before joining Gokyo Treks & Expedition, he worked for several years as a professional cook at a lodge in Lobuche, along the Everest Base Camp route, where he refined his skills in preparing a wide variety of cuisines.
Beyond Nepal, his profession has taken him to Tibet and Austria, further enriching his international experience. Known for his warm hospitality, exceptional cooking, and deep respect for every traveler, Mr. Khatri treats each guest as part of his own family, ensuring every journey is both memorable and fulfilling.
Rajesh Rupakheti
Trek Leader/Guide

Rupakheti Rajesh has born in Jeevanpur village of Dhading and joins us in 2013. Rajesh speaks very good English. He is well experienced and has wide knowledge about trekking, tours, and as well as hiking.
Initially, Mr. Rajesh worked as field staff and was involved in many different soft to extreme adventure trekking tours in Nepal Himalaya. Rajesh received his leadership training and participated in some training conducted by NATHM, Government of Nepal in 2015.
After years of experience in outdoor activities, he became a Trekking Guide. Rupakheti graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies from Tribhuvan University in Nepal.
An active guide, been participating in skill developing training – environmental awareness program organized by various organizations. Besides that, he has been involved in Community Development Foundation members and non-profitable organizations that give charity to deprived and background people in Nepal.
Nir Kumar Magar
Trekking Guide

Mr. Nir Kumar Magar was born and grew up in the Pikey peak area in the foothills of Mount Everest. He obtained the trekking guide training course on 2016 managed by NATHM and seriously worked in this profession leading travelers to the Mountains.
He joined this agency at Gokyo Treks & Expedition in 2015 as a trekking guide. Within a short span of time, he luckily got a lot of groups and visited several other regions like Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Mustang, and Manaslu region and guided the tourists to the Himalayas.
Nir Kumar is a friendly and honest guide who has a great knowledge of multi hiking trails and always listen to what the guest want to customize with the site trips along with their tight travel plan.
Furthermore, he studied up to the higher secondary school level on HSEB BOARD and speaks normal English, Hindi, and Korean besides the Nepali language. Recently, he had the opportunity to visit Switzerland to enhance his knowledge of tourism and tourist attractions, aiming to improve his guiding expertise.
Ganesh Kulung
Trek Guide

Ganesh Kulung, a certified trekking guide from the Rai community, was born and raised in the picturesque Everest foothills of Mahakulung-03, Solu Khumbu. Known for his friendly and honest nature, he has earned a strong reputation among trekkers in the Mera Peak region. He has been an integral part of our agency since 2016.
From an early age, Ganesh nurtured a dream of conquering Mera Peak, a famous trekking destination close to his hometown. Though dedicated to his academic pursuits, he never let go of his passion for the mountains. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Studies (MBS) at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, balancing his education with his enduring love for adventure.
His passion for trekking has led him on numerous adventures, exploring some of the most iconic routes in the Himalayas. His trekking experience includes Langtang, Manaslu, Annapurna Circuit, Gokyo Ri, Chola Pass, Everest Base Camp, and Tilicho Pass. With extensive knowledge of diverse terrains and high-altitude challenges, he ensures each trek is both safe and unforgettable.
Ganesh’s deep love for his homeland drives him to create enriching trekking experiences. Under his guidance, travelers can truly immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of majestic wilderness.
Bharat Kumar Dhakal
Trek Guide

Bharat Dhakal, a skilled trekking guide, hails from Palpa, a region in Nepal famous for its Dhaka cap. He pursued his Intermediate degree at Tribhuvan University, where he gained valuable knowledge and skills for his adventurous career.
In 2019, Bharat joined Gokyo Treks and Expedition, quickly earning a reputation as a reliable and experienced guide. However, his journey in trekking began much earlier. Since 2008, he has been leading tourists through the majestic Himalayan trails.
With extensive experience in hiking and outdoor adventures, he has guided trekkers through iconic routes, including Annapurna, Everest, and remote restricted areas. His expertise ensures a safe and enriching journey for every traveller.
Under Bharat’s guidance, trekking in the Himalayas becomes a memorable and rewarding experience. His deep passion for the outdoors and dedication to exceptional service make him an ideal trekking companion in the breathtaking landscapes of Nepal.
Navaraj Nepal

Navaraj Nepal was born and raised in the Langtang region of Nepal. He joined Gokyo Treks Agency in 2014, bringing a deep passion for the mountains and a strong understanding of the Himalayan terrain. His expertise makes him a valuable asset to the agency and a trusted companion for trekkers.
With years of experience, he is well-versed in diverse trails, terrains, and challenges. His knowledge of local tribes, flora, and fauna adds depth to the journey, making each trek both adventurous and culturally immersive.
As a safety-conscious guide, he ensures that every trekker is well-prepared. He stays updated on the latest safety protocols and medical procedures, ready to handle any unexpected situations.

Devi Bahadur Khatri
Trek Guide

Devi Khatri, born and raised in the Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal, grew up surrounded by the grandeur of the Himalayas. Inspired by the mountains, he developed a strong passion for trekking from an early age, which later shaped his professional journey in adventure tourism.
With over seven years of experience, Devi has earned a reputation as a skilled and reliable trekking guide. He completed his proficiency certificate level (Grade 12) at Patan Multiple Campus and received professional guide training from the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM).
As a licensed guide, he is fully certified to lead treks across the most stunning mountain regions. Devi has successfully guided numerous treks, including the Manaslu Circuit, Annapurna Circuit, Tsum Valley, Everest Base Camp, Upper Mustang, and Langtang Valley.
Fluent in English, Hindi, and Malaysian, he easily connects with travellers from around the world. Known for his friendly nature, patience, and professionalism, Devi is dedicated to ensuring that every trekking experience is safe, memorable, and deeply rewarding.
Ngawang C. Shrepa
Mountain Climbing Guide

Ngawang Chongba Sherpa has born in Solukhumbu below Everest, has been working with us since 2009. He speaks good English. Nawang is well-experienced and has a wide knowledge of trekking and Mountaineering.
Initially, Mr. Nawang is working as a field staff involved in different adventure climbing and trekking. Mr. Sherpa received his leadership and rock climbing, Peak climbing, and as well extreme mountain climber participated in training conducted by the Nepal government and Nepal Mountaineering Association.
In addition, he did summit several mountains under NMA Peaks and as well as Everest and Cho Oyu. Everest expedition from Tibet side 3 times and as well Nepal side 1 time was the most unforgettable in his life. Currently, Ngawang lives near Boudhnath stupa, in Kathmandu Valley because of his profession.

Raj Kumar Shrestha (Trek Guide)
Rajkumar Shrestha was born and raised in Chautara Municipality of Sindupalchowk district, Nepal, a region nestled at the foothills of the renowned Panch Pokhari and Bhairav Kunda trekking areas.
He is 26 years old and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tribhuvan University. Rajkumar joined Gokyo Treks and Expedition in 2021, starting as a porter before advancing to the role of trekking guide.
His hobbies include dancing and singing, and he maintains a healthy, alcohol free lifestyle. Strong, energetic, and motivated, Rajkumar is continually working to improve his English. With dedication and confidence, he strives to provide excellent service to every guest.

Lhakpa Sherpa
Lhakpa Sherpa was born and raised in Dudh Kunda Gaupalika–01, Solu Khumbu, in the foothills of Everest. He entered the tourism industry in 2015 as a porter, inspired from a young age while watching trekkers pass through the Pikey trail.
Over the years, Lhakpa has gained valuable experience as a trekking guide, leading travellers from around the world, including groups from Italy. He is familiar with most trekking regions of Nepal and communicates good in English, having completed his higher secondary education (10+2). In addition, he speaks basic Italian language.
Friendly, reliable, and proud of his Sherpa heritage, Lhakpa is a dedicated guide who ensures his guests enjoy a safe and memorable Himalayan journey.

Manoj Bohara (Trek Guide)
Manoj Bohara was born in Kabilas Rural Municipality, in the stunning Langtang region of Nepal. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and began his journey as a trekking guide thereafter.
Fluent in Nepali and good in English, Manoj holds a valid trekking guide license, allowing him to assist trekkers from all backgrounds. Manoj began his career in 2017 as a porter and worked his way up to become a professional guide.Over the years, he has explored renowned trekking regions like Annapurna, Langtang, and Manaslu. His experiences have provided him with a deep understanding of these beautiful landscapes, enhancing his ability to lead and guide trekkers with confidence.

Lila Bahadur Tamang (Trek Guide)
Lila Bahadur Tamang has born and grew up in Kakani Gaupalika -05, Nuwakot district in Nepal. A licensed guide in the Nepalese mountains, working with the agency since 2013. But before that, he was staying in Lukla lodge for a couple of years to work with Tourists for base camp trekking.
During his staying in Lukla base he did almost all high passes trekking routes such as Cho la, Kongma la, Renjo la…etc. Additionally, he also did the base camp trek many times with tourists and was proud to be a great guide for Everest Zone.
As studied up to an intermediate level in a college, he speaks relatively good English, Hindi, and Nepali languages.

Hira Bahadur Regmi Magar (Porter cum Guide)
Hira Bahadur was born in Waku VDC-8, Solukhumbu, Nepal. He is a licensed trekking guide, specializing in the mountainous terrain in the Nepalese Himalayas. Since 2007, he has been an integral part of our agency, leading trekkers to Everest Base Camp and beyond.
As a seasoned guide and porter, his expertise shines through. He has successfully crossed Renjo La, Cho La, Everest Base Camp, and Ama Dablam, among other challenging routes in the Everest region.
During the high season, he is stationed at Lukla Lodge, eagerly awaiting guests. From there, he ensures a safe and memorable journey from Lukla Airport into the heart of the Himalayas.

Madhav Bhetuwal (Manager)
Mr. Madhav Bhetuwal hails from the vicinity of Sauraha in the Chitwan district, where he was born and raised. He commenced his role as a Manager within the company in 2018. Alongside his professional commitments, Madhav finds joy in various outdoor activities like trekking, touring, and sightseeing.
Consistently demonstrating excellence in his duties, Madhav pursued a Master’s in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University in Nepal. He is also proficient in English, showcasing a commendable command of the language.

Sherpa Fur Galzen (Mountain Guide)
Sherpa Fur Galzen has born in Solukhumbu where Mt. Everest and Amadablam is located, has been working with this company since 2009. Speaks good English and basic Italian. Moreover, he is certified guide and has a wide knowledge of trekking and Mountaineering.
Mr. Sherpa received his and leadership and rock climbing, Peak climbing, and as well as an extreme mountain climber, participated in climbing training conducted by the Nepal Mountaineering Association. Ascend several NMA summits (NMA PEAKS) successfully. And as well as extreme expeditions which as Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu, Burantse Expedition and more.
Sherpa climbed the Everest expedition from Tibet side several times as well as from Nepal side too. Currently, Mr. Sherpa lives in Jorpati nearby Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu valley. Apart from his trekking and climbing profession, he is also conducting a small hotel near the corner at Boudha stupa.
