Overview

The Ama Dablam expedition itinerary covers the top trending mountains highlight of Everest massif. Mount Ama Dablam peak climbing is situated in the Mahalangur mountain range into the depth of the Everest range, Solukhumbu District, Nepal.

Ama Dablam peak is equally popular as an Ama Dablam expedition in the Nepalese Himalayas. It is 3rd most popular mountain on the Himalayas expedition. Summit offers a superb view of Lhotse (9,501m), Everest (8,850m), Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse Shar (8,383m), Makalu (8,475m), Baruntse (7,720m), and Thamserku, Cho-Oyu, etc.

Expedition at Ama Dablam is just a marvelous climbing tour. Mike Gill (NZ), Mike Ward (UK), Barry Bishop (USA), and Wally Romanes (NZ) got the summit via the Southwest Ridge at first ascent‎ on ‎13 March 1961. The highest Ama Dablam summit elevation‎ is ‎6,812m (22,349 feet) and the easiest route‎ has a big rock/snow/ice climb.

Ama Dablam’s meaning is “Mother’s necklace”; the long ridges on each side are like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the Dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by women.

Expedition route ama Dablam difficulty depends on the conditions but truly difficult to ascend. Professional climbers should attempt this summit climb, though it is partially saved with fixed ropes.

Our past mountaineers suggest that the Ama Dablam climbing itinerary be cautiously to allow for gradual ascending and proper acclimatization. The best season for the amadablam group to climb is either March to May or September to mid-November months. If the expedition holiday plan is not suitable for you, we design a special expedition itinerary as per your request.

Either Ama Dablam compared with Everest or other 8,000m peaks or Ama Dablam vs Everest expedition is a very interesting story. Expedition Ama Dablam is often a great climb independent of other 8,000 meters plans. It is significantly more technical than most of the normal routes on 8000m climbs including Everest but the overall climate is alike. In terms of climbing duration, climbing Ama Dablam takes short time comparing Mount Everest. We recommend you buy the ama Dablam route map either in the Thamel map house or with the Gokyo trek agency for free and study your climbing tour by talking with a mountain sherpa guide.

FAQ

Question: Is pick-up service available on my arrival day in Kathmandu?.

Answer: Yes sure. Provide us with your flight details and request for pickup. Our representative will come to pick up you at Kathmandu international airport.

Question: What sort of accommodation and Food can I expect on the Ama Dablam expedition?.

Answer: Basically, we serve you a tent accommodation along the entire journey however sometimes you can stay at a guest house below the base camp. As you progress higher especially above the base camp, you’ll likely stay in tented camps set up by our expedition team.

These camps provide basic but comfortable accommodations, usually including sleeping tents, dining tents, and sometimes even shower tents. As you move closer to the summit, you may stay in higher camps that are more Spartan and focused on providing shelter and safety rather than luxury.

Likewise, our professional cook cooks a delicious range of mostly vegetarian meals. They are Pasta, tuna bakes, noodles, potatoes, eggs, curry rice, bread, soups, and fresh vegetables (variety depends on the season). However meals are often more varied and substantial, including a mix of local and Western dishes to provide ample energy for the strenuous activity serve with tea/coffee.

Question: Is an Ama Dablam climb dangerous? How about ama Dablam deaths ratio?

Answer: Definitely. You should attempt Ama Dablam if you have an experienced mountain guide, proper experience, and logistics for emergency conditions. 6 climbers were dead in November 2006 when part of the large typical serac (the Dablam) collapsed hitting Camp 3. The Dablam further collapsed in late 2008 as well. As of 2012, teams remain to climb without serious incident but many climbers skip Camp 3 and have a very, very long day from Camp 2 to the ama Dablam summit. Although it is a long day trip, it is a better safe journey.

Question: How many people got summit and how many people died trying?

Answer: An estimated 1900 climbers have summited indeed about 18 climbers died in 2008.

Additionally, we serve you purified drinking water while on camping climbing days.

Question: Can I charge my camera or other batteries on my trip?

Answer: There are some chances to recharge the battery on pay. We advise you to bring an additional pair in case. But on camping days, there are no local houses along the way, so better to bring a solar panel and charger. Remember to bring your adapters! And we recommend you take extra batteries along with you to take photographs.
