01 DayArrival day in Kathmandu. World heritage site of Kathmandu valley sightseeing, 6-7 hours.Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you in a private vehicle and transfer you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Around 12 noon, we start with our guided trip to cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. It includes visits to the pilgrimage sites of the Hindu Pashupatinath temple, the world’s biggest Boudhanath stupa, and visits to Swayambhu marked as a monkey temple. Likewise, the historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with the temple, unique architecture, and Kumari in central Kathmandu. In the evening, introduce our climbing crew and brief them about your Ganjala chuli peak climbing.
At morning we’ll drive on a northern highway that twists and climbs over mountain ridges to the Trishuil valley for lunch and on to Syabru village for the overnight. Now the road to Dunche and Syapru besi is fully blacktopped through picturesque landscapes, mountain scenery, and local villages.
After breakfast, trek ascends through the forest followed by a climb to reach Bamboo village. Bamboo is located on the Langtang river bank at an altitude of 1,850 meters. Climbers can hike across the fine trails and follow upstream. In the meantime, climbers can hear the bird’s voice through the forest path. Beehives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for visitors. From here we’ll again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel where we’ll stay overnight.
From Lama Hotel, the trail leads through a forest of hemlock, oaks, maples, and rhododendron observing glimpses of Langtang Lirung, reaches to Gumanchok (2800m). Climb to Ghora Tabela (2,970m) and further ascends to Thangshyap (3,140m/10,300 feet). On the way, there is a Military check-post, that controls the Langtang National Park permits.
The path is scenic climbs gradually to Sindum and to Yamphu (3640m) to Mundo. Crossing the Laja Khola then climbs a moraine to a viewpoint where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung and Kinshung. As you climbed the hill, walk a little down to reach kyanjin gompa lodges. You might go further to the Langtang glacier – Langtang river and its origin.
Explore around the Langtang Lirung glacier and dry Himalayan Yak pasture. We need to take a packed lunch as a full day hike takes about 7 hours roughly to get to Tsergo Ri. Climb to Tsergo Ridge hill only if the weather is clear with a blue sky. In clear weather, you can see stunning mountain vistas like Langtang Lirung, Ganjala Chuli, Yala peak, Dorje Lakpa, and many other summits in a row.
Langtang valley hikes continue to Langtang river, cross the river, and steeply ascend through a forest of rhododendron and juniper. Furthermore, the moraine trail reaches the yak pasture at Ngegang kharka where the Yaks are grazing peacefully. Stay overnight in Tent Camp at Ngegang.
The outdoor climbing trail is steep ascent until you reach High Camp. You trek along the rocky and icy glacier. This day also you can enjoy the views of Langtang Lirung, Tserko RI, Ganchenpo peak, Kibgyu Ri, Yansi Tsenji peak, and a few others.
During the summit climbing day, you might descend downhill until you cross a suspension bridge over the Langtang river. Continue the tough trail for about 45 minutes to reach Kyangjin Gompa lodge.
There is no guarantee that we can get quite a favorable weather on our plan day reaching the summit, so this day is used as a contingency in case if we are unable to submit or some other reasons. If the weather gets exceptionally unfavorable we wisely have to postpone the program to reach the summit. If the trip goes smoothly, we do not need this spare day.
From Kyanjin gompa of Langtang villages to Ghoda Tabala takes around seven hours of walk.
The upper part trek route is more attractive for the panoramic view of mountains and green hill views. This path is broader and remains sunny through the different Sherpa and Tamang villages. The first half part of the track is gradually down and does a steep descent to the Syabru Besi (1,500m/4,922 feet). Nowadays, Syabrubesi bazaar is a very popular hamlet because of a connecting highway to the Kerung border, Tibet.
Drive back to Kathmandu by Kerung Deluxe Yatayat bus which takes about seven hours to get to Kathmandu city center. And trip finish.
