Mount Himlung Himal expedition is situated in Nar and Phu restricted trek routes northeast in Annapurna range, Nepal. Furthermore, a remote Nar-Phu valley is referred to as the hidden valley of Nepal – due to its isolation and being well off the beaten track.
The best time to climb Himlung Himal is during the spring (April-May) and fall (October-November) seasons. At those seasons, the weather is stable, and the skies are clear, making it easier to navigate the mountain. However, climbers have to be fit and climbing experts in order to reach the summit and endure the high altitude.
You can find yak grazing and an abundance of Tibetan prayer flags at a higher elevation. It is a pretty uncomplicated and less technical climb. The Japanese team climbed Himlung mountain in 1992 for the first ascend in its history. Therefore, the peak is getting popular for a new bucket list for climbers.
The Himlung summit is located in Manang District in Nepal. It is depending on the conditions but is often unsafe because of an Avalanche. Professional climbers should attempt this mountain, though it is partially saved with fixed ropes.
Guided or non-guided
A coordination just undertaking will be less expensive. Yet you should act naturally adequate on the mountain. Guiding trips clearly incorporate an installment for the guide, which is more costly for a Western guide comparing Nepali Sherpa Guide.
How Difficult is Himlung Himal Expedition?.
Himlung Himal difficulty is challenging and the level is medium. Climbing any mountain over 22,000 feet requires a very high level of fitness.
Bottled oxygen or not?
The vast majority is bottled oxygen yet for the rare sorts of people who don’t, it’s saving. One bottle cost around US$ 465. But, most climbers never use Oxygen to climb this mountain.
Thus, we have designed the Himlung climbing itinerary cautiously to allow for gradual ascending and proper acclimatization. The best season for the expedition group to climb Himlung is from May to mid-October. If the itinerary is not suitable for you, we design another itinerary as per your request and the duration of the expedition holiday in Nepal.

Reaching there, you can get the first view of the three townships in the area as well as the old “dzong” (Tibetan-style fortress). It remains of two ruined forts, impressively situated atop the flatlands before the settlement. Moreover, a day is well spent sitting with the villagers as they spin their yak and sheep wool, pound mustard seeds into a paste for oil, or go about their other daily tasks. You can make a short walk up to the famous Tashi Lhakhang Gompa to pay respects to Lama Karma Sonam Rimpoche who came to Nepal with the Dalai Lama in 1959.
At Phu village, we have an opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside and also have overwhelming views of Himlung Mountain. During those days, climbers can climb at Himlung Himal and descend to Base Camp.

After finishing the Himlung Himal expedition we take the trail back to Phu Gaon..
It gets easier as we descend to the lower altitudes, but at first, we will head up to Kyang and Cheyako villages. After Cheyako, we lead along the same nature walk along the Phu river banks following it downstream.
The trail from Meta to Koto has a steep descent for some hours. Nature trail some of the finest views of Annapurna II, and Gangapurna peaks. The impressive trail heads up onto barren landscapes with only juniper bushes along the climbing journey. Eventually, we reach Koto, a large settlement of Koto where we stay overnight.
Today, we drive all the way downhill to Besisahar. It’s about 5-6 hours of crazy drive to pass about 55 kilometers distance passing the gorgeous landscapes.
