Lalitpur and Bhaktapur Sightseeing Review
Living Museum Patan Tour
Unlike visiting Kathmandu’s oldest palace, our primary reason for this trip was to experience the Museum Tour. While the entrance fee may seem steep for Singaporean tourists, it is well worth it given the abundance of temples, stupas, and landmarks surrounding the main squares. We booked everything with Ammar, and his services were not only affordable but also highly valuable for the 4-hour tour.
Response from Gokyo Treks Nepal
Dear Firdaus Mohd, Thank you for your wonderful review! I’m delighted to hear that you found the museum tour and the surrounding sights to be worthwhile. It was a pleasure guiding you through such a culturally rich area, and I’m glad you felt the tour was both affordable and valuable. I hope to have the opportunity to guide you again on future explorations!
Best regards, Ammar
Less Crowds, Must See Places in Patan City
Patan, a historic city developed between the 12th and 13th centuries, was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. For an enriching experience, we recommend booking a local tour with Ammar, as we did, to explore the vibrant main square and its surroundings. During our visit, the central square was lively but not overcrowded, allowing us to fully enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and rich cultural heritage.

Old Temples, Palaces and Sculptures
Patan Durbar Square showcases numerous temples dedicated to the principal deities, each with its own distinct character. This area is well-maintained, clean, and noticeably calmer than Durbar Square in Kathmandu. Former royal palace has been transformed into a fascinating museum, complemented by a cozy café in its rear gardens.
As architecture enthusiasts from Germany, we were fortunate to have Ammar Guni recommended by a friend who had previously toured with him. Booking a local guide like Ammar allows you to fully appreciate the rich depth and splendor of Nepalese culture in Patan and Bhaktapur. The endless photographic opportunities make it a destination well worth visiting.
