Everest base camp and kalapatthar with chola pass trek is great!
We booked our trek to EBC via Ammar at Gokyo Treks.
He booked our flights and organised our trekking permits, guide, and a porter. He also advised us how much we would need to spend each day whilst trekking. Whilst we were booking our trek with Ammar we met a guide who had just returned from EBC who told us what to expect. When we arrived in Lukla we were met by our guide. We did have to book a porter after two days but our guide was helpful in arranging this.
Ammar kept in touch with us during our trek to see how we were and to check the trek was going well. I would definitely recommend booking a trek with Gokyo Treks – everything was really well organised and easy, he gave us all the information we needed and the guide he organised was good. I would definitely go on another trek with Gokyo Treks if I visit Nepal again. – Sophie Boyce, Shropshire, United Kingdom
Everest Base Camp trek via Chola Pass and Gokyo.
I recently completed my wish list of going to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo with assistance of Gokyo Treks and Expedition, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go with the company. Ever since I contacted Gokyo Treks, Ammar Guni has assisted me with lots of decisions and given me advices, from what to expect on my trip to what are the essentials needed.
I was greeted warmly by Ammar when I touched down at Kathmandu airport, stayed at his house, and had a nice dinner with his family. Ammar even walked me to Thamel to get remaining essentials for my trip, and he made it so much easier since I’m not local.
While trekking, I was assigned a guide who then became friend, Tej Regmi, a thoughtful guide and genuine at doing his work. He gave full attention especially when crossing Chola Pass glacier which is dangerous. Tej even suggested alternative trekking routes since I was finishing my trip earlier than expected. The best is, friends who I knew along my trip even complimented him for being thoughtful.
Overall, I’m very happy with services by Ammar and his team, and for me their actions have spoken louder than words. Thanks for the great experience Gokyo Treks and Expedition! I strongly recommend them if you’re visiting Nepal. – Zhafir Mustafa, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Chola pass, EBC and kalapatthar trek!
We are back in Europe after a great trip to Gokyo valley – chola pass and kalapatthar trekking, March 2015.
It has long and adventurous journey for us but its really worthy…. to see the spectacular view of all the way and especially our downhill trail from Everest Base camp to Namche Bazaar. At first, we are not sure whether we could finish our trip or not.
But together with the professional and experienced team of Gokyo trek and expedition, we prepare our journey, did run some of the high Himalayas along the routes, no doubt they have experience which made our trip much easier – Ulrich, Vienna, Austria
Couldn’t have dreamt of better!
My husband and I set our eyes on Gokyo Treks back in March when we were deciding what company would be best for us. And we couldn’t be more satisfied, we arranged for an 18-day trek with Everest Base Camp trek while visiting a Gokyo first, followed by a 3 night Chitwan Jungle Safari in October of 2016. Everything was amazing, simply put. We stayed with Ammar and his family while we were in Kathmandu and they really treated us like friends and family. We could really feel Ammar’s generosity and warm heart.
Our guide Ram was incredible as well! We really felt a strong connection with him by the end of our trek. He knew English really well and definitely knew everything about where we were and about the Himalayan culture on our trek. What I thought was an exceptional job on his part was when I got sick when we were in Gokyo, we wanted to see if there was another route we could take that was just as scenic, just not to base camp, and he sat us down with a map and showed us where all we could go for the rest of our trek. We were left not having a single regret and not feeling like we missed out on base camp. Especially since we did make it to Gokyo!
Our Chitwan trip the perfect way to relax after our long trek, Ammar booked us the Chitwan Village Resort and it was nothing short of amazing!
On our bus trip back from Chitwan, I somehow managed to forget our camera on the bus and didn’t realize it till an hour or so later, feeling defeated and terrible, Ammar was quick to call the bus company and they said they found it! So Ammar and his kind heart walked my husband down to the bus station at 6 am the next morning to retrieve it. I don’t think we would be able to get our camera back without him! I couldn’t imagine a more ideal way to visit another country.
– Kandice Derby
Hello, I’m Patrick, Kandice’s husband. Prior to our arrival in this Nepal I didn’t quite know what to expect other than trekking followed by relaxation. When we arrived we were greeted by Ram and taken to Ammar’s home, after we formally met and he showed us around we settled in and caught up on some much-needed rest. The following day he took time out to address and questions or concerns, and that evening we met our guide to be and had ample time to get to know him.
The trip in its entirety was exceptional just as Kandice described, with our guide and Ammar taking time out for us whenever we felt we required something or anything further. The hospitality, in my opinion, is unmatched as Ammar and his entire family are very kind and forthcoming, I cannot recommend anyone else as I cannot vouch for their services. If you do just so happen to choose GT you will not be disappointed, the staff here even showed us around a busier part of the city where the market resides and even lent us a personal cellphone if we became lost, that’s unheard of!
If you have any other questions about the company or our experience please feel free to contact me at eight one six six five one zero four six zero. Thank you – Patrick Darby, Kansas City, Missouri
Couldn’t have asked for a better trip, thanks to Gokyo Treks
We couldn’t recommend Gokyo Treks more highly. From start to finish, everything was seamlessly organized for us. When we first arrived at the busy Kathmandu airport we had to queue with hundreds of others to get our visas but our driver patiently waited for us outside. We were then taken to our comfortable hotel in Thamel for the night and Ammar gave us the rundown of our tour (with a welcome tea on arrival, of course). Ammar is a seasoned professional and will happily help answer any questions you may have prior to or during your trip.
For our trek, we had the fantastic Som as our tour guide. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide! Som has been with Gokyo Treks since the start and is so passionate about his job and sharing stories about Nepal. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge, but he also deeply cares for his clients and will go above and beyond to make sure you have well looked after. Not only that but he is hilarious!
When you are trekking together for 16 days, you need a light-hearted tour guide who you can share a laugh with, and Som will happily smile and laugh with you. Our porter Buddi was also fantastic. Although we can’t speak the same language, Buddi has a smile that will light up a room and makes you feel so welcome every day when he comes to collect your bags. By the end of the tour, we are more than just clients- we are now lifelong friends. If you are looking for an authentic Nepalese experience, book Gokyo Treks. – Jack Morley and Monica, Brisbane Region, Australia
Gokyo and Everest Base Camp treks via Chola pass
