The Yala Peak Climbing is situated at 5732 meters, marked as the easiest peak climbing in the Langtang territory. Yala summit is in the beautiful Langtang valley above Langsisa and the distance from Kathmandu to Yala Peak is 64.2 kilometers only.

Langtang Yala peak climbing offers an excellent view of the Ganesh Himal family, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Yala peak, Naya Kanga peak, Shishapangma, etc with Tamang culture and beautiful landscapes.

Climbing Yala Peak enables you to explore through the Langtang National Park home of the Tibetan faces of Tamang people. The trip commences across the farmland, villages, and Rhododendron, conifer, bamboos, oaks, and pine trees.

Moreover, in the spring season, the forest looks enchanting with flowers all around. We follow the narrow Langtang River gorges until we ascend to the large alpine grassland of Kyangin Gompa. Furthermore passing the fascinating scenery at Kyanjingompa, the glacier meets the meadow.

01 Day Arrival at Kathmandu valley

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast plan. Our representative will brief you about yala adventure programs.

02 DayWorld heritage site of Kathmandu valley sightseeing, 7 hours.

After breakfast the day will start with our guided trip to cultural world heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley. It includes the Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Visit Pashupatinath temple, the world’s biggest Boudhanath stupa, and Swayambhu mark as a Buddhist pilgrimage place. Later, visit historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with the antique temple, unique architectures, and living Goddess Kumari. In the sunset, introduce our fellow trekking staff for your adventure trek briefing.

03 Day Overland drive to Syapru besi Bazaar (1,462m/4,795 feet), 7 hours

At morning we’ll drive on a northern highway that twists and climbs over mountain ridges to the Trishuil valley for lunch and on to Syapru village for the overnight. The road ride is still amazing but adventure bus drive takes about 7 hours over picturesque landscapes and the mountain villages.

04 Day Lama Hotel trek (2,470m/8,102 feet) , 5 hours

After breakfast, trek ascends through the forest followed by a climb to reach Bamboo village. Bamboo is located on the Langtang river bank at an altitude of 1,850 meters. This forest path is a well-established trail and follows upstream and can be seen bird’s life around the bushes. Beehives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here we’ll again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel where we’ll stay overnight.

05 Day Langtang village trekking (3,430m/11,250 feet), 5 hours

From Lama Hotel, the trail leads across a forest of hemlock, oaks, maples and rhododendron observing glimpses of Langtang Lirung, reaches to Gumanchok (2800m). Climb to Ghora Tabela (2,970m) and further ascends to Thangshyap (3,140m/10,300 feet). On the way, there is an entrance checkpoint where Nepal Military collects Langtang national park entrance fees. Pay just for single-time entry if you haven’t paid in Dunche, you have to pay Langtang national park fees here. The trail goes deeper climbs to Langtang village, was totally collapsed in 2015 after the massive earthquake disaster.

06 Day Kyanjin Gompa hikes (3,870m/12,694 feet), 3 hours

The trail climbs gradually to Sindum and to Yamphu (3640m) to Mundo. Crossing the Laja Khola then climbs a moraine to a viewpoint where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung and Kinshung. As you climbed the hill, walk a little down to reach kyanjin gompa lodges. You might go further to the Langtang glacier – Langtang river and its origin.

07 Day Kyanjing Ridge day hikes. Full-day Tsergo Ridge hiking (optional), 6 hours

Explore around the Langtang Lirung glacier and dry Himalayan Yak pasture. We need to take a packed lunch as a full day hike takes about 7 hours roughly to get Tsergo Ri. We climb to Tsergo Ridge hill only if the weather is clear with a blue sky. In clear weather, you can see stunning mountain vistas like Langtang Lirung, Ganjala Chuli, Yala peak, Dorje Lakpa, and many other summits in a row.

08 Day Prepare climbing gear and Yala Peak Base Camp trek (4,600m/15,093 feet), 6 hours

Check about the Yala peak climbing gears before you proceed to hike at Yala base camp. Begin your Yala base camp hiking and set up a campsite at the basecamp to say overnight. Gokyo Treks Nepal expert climbing guide will brief climbing instructions. It helps climbers to get to the summit and descend to base camp safely.

09 Day Yala Peak summit climbing (5,700m/18,700 feet). Descend to Kyanjin Gompa, 8 hours

In wintertime climbing, about the last 700 meters will require rope up and using crampons with a walking axe. There is a final shapely ridge to mediate the tiny summit. Except for the winter months, tourists can hike the summit without professional climbing gear.

Yala summit height is 5,700m, offers the best view of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and many other boarder mountains. Shooting the best mountains, we’ll make our way back to Base Camp and further downhill to Kyanjin Gompa lodge if time and energy permits.

10 Day Reserve day for contingency in case of bad weather

There is no guarantee that we can get quite a favorable climate on our planned day for the Yala summit. So this day is used as a contingency in case if we are unable to submit or for some other reason. If the weather gets exceptionally unfavorable we wisely have to modify the climbing program to reach the summit. If the trip goes smoothly, we do not need this spare day.

11 Day Trek descend to Ghoda tabala passing Kyanjin Gompa, 7 hours

From base camp descend to Ghoda Tabala passing Kyanjin gompa and Langtang villages. During the hikes, you can walk over the tiny yak pastures and the glacial moraine of Langtang landslides, new Langtang village. Furthermore, you can walk following the Langtang Khola and on to Ghoda Tabela lodge.

12 Day Syabrubesi trek, 7 hours

The upper part trek route is more beautiful for the panoramic view of mountains and green hill views. This path is broader and remains sunny through the different Sherpa and Tamang villages. The first half part of the trail is gradually down and then the trail does steeply descent to the Syabrubesi (1,600m/5,248 feet.). Nowadays, Syabrubesi bazaar is very popular because of a connecting highway to kerung border, Tibet.

13 Day Drive back to Kathmandu.

Drive back to Kathmandu by Kerung Deluxe Yatayat bus which takes about 7 hours to get Kathmandu city center.

14 DayFinal departure day

Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends. Wish you your wonderful journey.


How much does the Yala peak climbing cost?

Return to Yala peak trekking and Yala peak climbing cost is US$ 1,190 on double occupancy basis. But of course, the Yala adventure trip price will vary according to group size. For example, if you could bring 10+ travelers (except you) to your trip, you are treated as a group leader. So you can hike Yala peak free of cost.

Question: Is pick up service available on my arrival day in Kathmandu?.

Answer: Yes sure. Provide us your flight detail and request for pickup. Our representative will come to pick up you at Kathmandu international airport.

Question: Do I need experience for Yala peak climbing trek?.

Answer: Actually Yala peak trek trip is suitable for non-experience trekkers. But if tourists can walk roughly about 4-5 hours in a day, carrying a lightweight daypack at a high altitude somehow about 2000 meters is great.

Question: What kind of accommodation can I expect at Yala peak climbing?.

Answer: We provide you tourist standard accommodation in Kathmandu and during the trekking normal but the rooms are a clean cozy bed with a nice mattress and blankets. However we recommend you take your own sleeping bags if you have one with you otherwise, you may rent them while you are in Kathmandu.

Question: What kind of food can I expect in Yala peak climbing?.

Answer: All the lodges en Langtang trek routes have attached restaurants to prepare your daily hiking foods. They cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian such as Pasta, tuna bakes, noodles, potatoes, eggs, bread, soups, fresh vegetable rice. Alike, the dinner and breakfast are provided in the same lodge you spend the night every day and Lunch will be provided on the way to the next place where you are going. However, for climbing days you will have climbing food hot drinks.

Question: What opportunities will I have for a shower along Yala peak climbing trek?.

Answer: As you are outing lodge basis trek, they have a shower which you can get it on pay.

Question: How do I get drinking water on climbing Yala peak?.

Answer: You can buy water via lodges for drinking. But we advise against buying mineral water in plastic bottles, as currently there are no provisions for disposing of these. We recommend you bring Aqua tablets to purify the normal water. And the normal water is available along the trek routes.

Question: Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?.

Answer: You can recharge the battery on pay. We recommend you bring an extra pair in case. Remember to bring your adapters! And we recommend you to take extra batteries along with you.

Question: Are there any communication facilities?.

Answer: As you go on a Yala adventure, you can get telephone services, as well as internet services, from your normal NAMASTE SIM card.

Question: Can I use credit cards in Trekking?.

Answer: No! So, for the trekking routes, you need to have cash Nepali rupees because credit cards work only in the bigger cities or in luxury hotels.

Question: When should I book my trip and what are the payment terms?.

Answer: Because our trips book up months in advance, we recommend booking early to avoid any kind of misunderstanding. We will, of course, make every effort to adjust last-minute bookings.

And regarding the deposit, we prefer a 20% advance deposit of the total price of the trip in order to confirm your reservation before you arrive in Nepal. Remaining part of the payment, you can pay us on your arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Question: Who will carry my luggage on the express Yala peak climbing adventure?.

Answer: We provide porters to transfer your luggage. As we are a responsible trekking tour operator agency, our every porter carry a maximum of 25 kilos of your backpack which means 1 climber: 1 porter basis.

Question: Where can I organize my personal Yalapeak climbing gears?.

Answer: If you have those climbing gears at your home? bring them along with you. If you don’t have them then you can rent them in Kathmandu.

Question: How much additional money do I need per day?.

Answer: You can allocate US$ 08 – 10 for a lunch/dinner in Kathmandu and it depends on your spending habits. US$ 7 to 10 US$ each day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, tea coffee, and some drinks while you are on trek.

Currently Nepal Goernment and Nepal Mountaineering Association skipped the Yala climbing permit cost. We believe that removing of yala peak climbing special pemrits, there will be more tourist. Climbing yala trek information stated above is just a standard template guideline. However, the Yala adenture trip plan is possible to modify at your request on your specific conditions. Local politics, landslides, cancellation of local flights, weather, transport or a multitude of other factors that are beyond our control can result in a change of itinerary during on trip.

It is, however, very unlikely that the path would be substantially altered. If alterations are necessary the leader will decide the best alternative option, taking into consideration the best interests of the whole group.
