Had a great experience with Gokyo on my Poon Hill trek! They made everything very easy and straight forward and helped put together a custom trek that suited my fitness level and needs. My guide Rajesh was excellent, he had lots of local info and knew where all the best viewpoints were.I recommend everyone use these guys, and make sure to request Rajesh!

My best friend and I had been talking about doing a trek through the Himalayas for almost two years before we made it happen. We finally settled on Ammar’s company and don’t regret it. We had a wonderful guide named Bishnu who ended up feeling like more of a friend by the end of it and an incredibly sweet porter who’s name I feel terrible misspelling, but sounds like “Saloos”. They made our trip feel homey and comfortable, and while sometimes we had to turn down certain hikes due to physical tiredness or illness, Bishnu always found an alternative.

If we make it back to Nepal, we will be using this company again and hopefully getting to request the same guide and porter. Ammar always responded quickly through the booking process and was incredibly honest when we were issued a small refund for something we didn’t even know about! I definitely recommend this company.

I started planing my trek to ABC well in advance, around September 2018, thinking to continue towards Mustang area after coming down from the ABC trek.

Ammar Raj was very helpful during the preparation stage of the trek, suggesting from the beginning that my travel dates (mid March to Early April), were not optimal for getting to ABC. Closer to my travel, and knowing snow conditions close to ABC Amar Raj suggested that I change my plans to Mardi Himal trek.

Upon my arrival to Kathmandu, Ammar invited me to spend the night at a guest room in his house, allowing me a glimpse at the daily life of Nepali people. I had a great evening having supper with his family, learning about life in Nepal.

My trek guide/porter was Lila Bahadur Tamang. Speaking good English, he was able to explain me many aspects of sights we saw during the hike. He was very supportive, had great knowledge of the trails, and very accommodating to changes in the hike plan. I eventually decided to try going to the ABC, even knowing that it may not be possible to get to the camp itself. We got to Hinku cave and decided it may not be safe enough to continue.

Again I wish to thank Ammar Raj, his team and my Guide Lila for a great vacation.

I have done a trek in the langtang valley with them. They are just amazing, if I will come back to Nepal I will surely choose the same company.

The contact to Ammar from Gokyo Treks and Expeditions via WhatsApp have been very helpful and professional. He booked us a porterguide and managed our TIMS and Annapurna Conservation Permits. When we met him in kathmandu to sort out final details he was very nice and organized.

Our trip turned out great, our Porterguide was excellent and very attentive.

In conclusion: I would book again with Gokyo Treks and Expeditions if we come back to Nepal and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
