I am Nicole, a lifelong skier, climber, and enthusiast of high mountain adventures. While I’ve explored the Himalayas twice before, the helicopter ride to Everest Base Camp and landing at Kala Patthar was truly a spectacular experience.

To make the trip more affordable, Ammar arranged a shared trip for me.

With a brief stop at Lukla airport, an early morning flight, exploring Everest Base Camp, touching down at Kala Patthar, and enjoying breakfast at the Hotel Everest View, the day became one of the most memorable of my life.

This was our third visit to Nepal, and once again, we chose Gokyo Treks & Expedition for our trek to Everest. Ammar, the agency’s owner, and our guide, Rajesh, assisted us with all the trekking arrangements, ensuring everything went smoothly.

Initially, we planned to do the Mong La, but due to unfavorable weather, we had to switch to the Lower Everest trek. We are incredibly grateful to our guide, Mr. Rajesh, for managing all the last minute changes and minimizing disruptions. We were thrilled to complete the Everest View Trek, where the scenery was nothing short of spectacular.

Unlike visiting Kathmandu’s oldest palace, our primary reason for this trip was to experience the Museum Tour. While the entrance fee may seem steep for Singaporean tourists, it is well worth it given the abundance of temples, stupas, and landmarks surrounding the main squares. We booked everything with Ammar, and his services were not only affordable but also highly valuable for the 4 hours tour.

Patan, a historic city developed between the 12th and 13th centuries, was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. For an enriching experience, we recommend booking a local tour with Ammar, as we did, to explore the vibrant main square and its surroundings. During our visit, the central square was lively but not overcrowded, allowing us to fully enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and rich cultural heritage.
