Patan Durbar Square showcases numerous temples dedicated to the principal deities, each with its own distinct character. This area is well maintained, clean, and noticeably calmer than Durbar Square in Kathmandu. Former royal palace has been transformed into a fascinating museum, complemented by a cozy café in its rear gardens.

As architecture enthusiasts from Germany, we were fortunate to have Ammar Guni recommended by a friend who had previously toured with him. I booked a tour with Ammar from Gokyo Treks and Expeditions, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. We had a fantastic experience exploring Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, where the architectural beauty can be enjoyed in a more scenic and tranquil setting.

Our lunch at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the square added to the charm. Bhaktapur Durbar Square stands out, especially when paired with visits to Dattatraya and Taumadhi squares, both just 200 meters apart, making the town even more captivating
