We couldn’t recommend Gokyo Treks more highly. From start to finish, everything was seamlessly organized for us. When we first arrived in the busy Kathmandu airport we had to queue with hundreds of others to get our visas but our driver patiently waited for us outside. We were then taken to our comfortable hotel in Thamel for the night and Ammar gave us the rundown of our tour (with a welcome tea on arrival, of course). Ammar is a seasoned professional and will happily help answer any questions you may have prior to or during your trip.

For our trek, we had the fantastic Som as our tour guide. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide! Som has been with Gokyo Treks since the start and is so passionate about his job and sharing stories about Nepal. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge, but he also deeply cares for his clients and will go above and beyond to make sure you are well looked after. Not only that but he is hilarious! When you are trekking together for 16 days, you need a light hearted tour guide who you can share a laugh with and Som will happily smile and laugh with you. Our porter Buddi was also fantastic. Although we can’t speak the same language, Buddi has a smile that will light up a room and makes you feel so welcome everyday when he comes to collect your bags.

By the end of the tour, we are more than just clients- we are now lifelong friends.

With Gokyo treks guide I was trekking Tamang Heritage Trail. This was my third time I was using this agency. As always I had the perfect guide Bishnu,which provided safe and comfortable trek experience. In addition the guide taught me yoga. You cannot ask for more.

We had a fantastic 7 day trek to Gosaikunda lake organised by Gokyo trek. Our itinerary was thoroughly planned, tying in all our wishes for a good price (airport transfer, lodging and meals all included). Our guide, Bishnu, was great! He showed us the region and was happy to mix up the pace as we wished, – he even taught us yoga in the mornings and evenings which was great for sore muscles! The teahouse accommodation was perfect for the trek, and the trek itself had a nice mix of terrain and scenery. Although your legs may feel it afterwards, I would highly recommend.

As we were only passing through Kathmandu, I used Gokyo to plan and organise our time before leaving the UK. Ammar was most helpful, responding promptly to my queries and providing useful suggestions. We were able visit the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu, go walking in the Shivapuri NP, take an early morning flight to Everest and surrounding mountains, visit Nagarkot and Bhaktapur during our stay.

Drivers and guides were all provided which made life very easy. Ammar and his team did a great job. If we are lucky enough to return to Nepal we will definitely use Gokyo again.

Gokyo has done a wonderful job in making our hiking trip a success. Ammar was very helpful and responsive in our planning stage by addressing most of our concerns and following up closely with our group.

Shreeram was assigned to us as our guide and we were so lucky to have him. We were well taken care of throughout the trek. Shreeram was always checking up on us and making sure we were doing ok. He was attentive to our needs and always willing to accommodate us.

He was observant and quick to solve our minor issues along the way , i,e my shoes were almost broken on Day 1 ( i didn’t even notice) but he noticed it and immediately super glued it during lunch and now my shoes are stronger than before! Most importantly, we felt safe and comforted throughout the trek.

Credits to the entire team including our 2 strong and fast porters Dev & Surendra for bringing us across Thorong La Pass and back down to Kathmandu safely with our bags. I am very happy with Gokyo’s services. Itinerary was well organized and flexible according to our pace. Guide/porters were super chilled and fun people to hang with!
