This is our 3rd trip in Nepal with his agency. We contacted Ammar, the owner of Gokyo Treks & Expedition, and inquiries before we proceed to book Lobuche east peak climbing. He answered all of our questions.

Our Sherpa climbing Guide named Nawang was just amazing. He was a local Sherpa from the Solukhumbu area and has great knowledge especially about technically difficult mountain climbing. We enjoyed our trekking and climbing journey in Everest and we are happy to recommend this company to everyone.

We booked our trek to EBC via Ammar at Gokyo Treks. 

He booked our flights and organised our trekking permits, guide, and a porter. He also advised us how much we would need to spend each day whilst trekking. Whilst we were booking our trek with Ammar we met a guide who had just returned from EBC who told us what to expect. When we arrived in Lukla we were met by our guide. We did have to book a porter after two days but our guide was helpful in arranging this.

Ammar kept in touch with us during our trek to see how we were and to check the trek was going well. I would definitely recommend booking a trek with Gokyo Treks – everything was really well organised and easy, he gave us all the information we needed and the guide he organised was good. I would definitely go on another trek with Gokyo Treks if I visit Nepal again.

As we were only passing through Kathmandu, I used Gokyo to plan and organize our time before leaving the UK. Ammar was most helpful, responding promptly to my queries and providing useful suggestions. We were able to visit the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu, go walking in the Shivapuri NP, take an early morning flight to Everest and surrounding mountains, and visit Nagarkot and Bhaktapur during our stay. Drivers and guides were all provided which made life very easy. Ammar and his team did a great job. If we are lucky enough to return to Nepal we will definitely use Gokyo again.

We were a group of 2 Austrian climbers, started on September 22nd from Kathmandu to Chulu east peak climbing tour. Ammar made almost everything reservation for our trip. He welcome us at Tribhuwan international airport (TIA), and picked us to the center point of Thamel. Meeting our mountain guide Pasang, we arranged all the hiking gear together.

3 of our other porters were recruited from the agency also. They recognized almost all lodges and the local people. They were strong, friendly, and easy-going. Furthermore, Ammar´s rates are quite decent, much cheaper comparing other agencies. Don´t hesitate to ask further questions, I am happy to answer, and had a good time there.

I was looking for a serious partner to organize my journey. I found some recommendations for Gokyo Treks and Expedition on a website and I contacted Ammar. Immediately I got answers to my questions, I had some. All answers were very precise and clear, all prices were shown, and nothing is hidden.

I got several ideas for the trekking itinerary and I was completely convinced that Ammar’s Agency is the best partner for me. The guide and porter were well chosen and a super team, the trekking was full of fun.

Also, the homestay in Ammar’s house I will recommend. Quiet and comfortable, the hospitality you won’t find somewhere else.
