Overview

The kyajo ri peak climbing is another famous ridge to climb which covers the highlights villages, and the glacier. Kyajo ridge is a common peak that is situated in the Mahalangur Himalayan range into the depth of Mount Everest, Solukhumbu District, Nepal.

The kyajo ri peak is equally popular as a Kyozo Ri peak climbing in Nepal. It is opened for climbing under the mountaineering section in 2002. The government of Nepal declares to climb kya jo RI Peak as an expedition Mountain. The summit offers a splendid view of Everest (8,850m), Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (9,501m), Makalu (8,475m), Baruntse (7,720m), and Thamserku, Cho-Oyu, etc.

Furthermore, the usual ascent to the kya jo ri mountain is magnificent. The British expedition team approached from Machhermo, traversed the Kyajo Glacier, and climbed via the Southwest Ridge. The same climbing route was repeated by a French climbing team in 2003. Likewise, also a Dutch expedition team did the summit successfully over the Southwest Ridge route in 2003.

There are several climbers who attempt or even ascent the Kyozo peak prior to its official opening date. According to our past alpinists, we have designed the kya jo ri peak climbing itinerary carefully to authorize gradual ascending and proper acclimation. The best season to climb kya jo ridge is either April to May or September to early-November months. If the itinerary is not suitable for you, we design another itinerary as per your request and the duration of the climbing vacation.

We need proper acclimatization before heading to the summit climb. Today is an essential part of the expedition Himalaya. We climb roughly about 350 meters to camp two and descend to Camp 1 again, for gradual acclimatization. The guide will check the situation whether we need to fix the rope in between camp first to camp second. As we spoke with our past climbing guides, they told us that better to fix a climbing rope to camp 2.

11 Day Kyajo Ri Camp II expedition (5,700m/18,702 feet). 5 hours

From Camp 1 to Camp 2 involves some technical climbing difficulties. The climbing route is about 55-degree slopes and we need to climb next to the glacier. Additionally, as you are on CAMP II, you can see your climbing route up to Kyajo Ri Summit. In clear weather, you will have almost the best panorama of miraculous Mountain summits.

12 Day Kyajo Ri Summit climbing (6,186m/20,296 feet). Return to the CAMP ONE. 9 hours

Wake up early morning to get summit before the wind storm comes. Because of the icy and rock climbing trail, reaching the summit at 20,296 feet is not easy but the view is impressive. You can see the best Everest view including several other high mountains within a row. Return to Camp I and stay overnight in a tent.

13 Day Reserve day for weather contingency

There is no guarantee about whether to get the summit as planned or not. So, today is used as a weather contingency in case we are unable to touch the summit for any reason. If the weather gets exceptionally unfavorable, we wisely have to postpone the program of summiting the expedition Himalaya. Sometimes somebody in the group may get some problems acclimatizing well enough to make the ascent; the day can be used in that condition too. If the trip goes without a hitch, we do not need this spare day so we continue to walk downhill to Mende camp.

14 Day Descend to base camp and return to Thame. 8-9 hours

Today, we descend downhill at the Kyajo Ri base camp. Clean the base camp and get ready to move down to Thame Monastery. Finally, we have made it and celebrate the success of our trip. And stay overnight.
