01 Day Kathmandu to Lukla flight (2,840m). Trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,563 feet), 5 hoursThe flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport typically departs at 6:15 in the morning daily. An early departure allows us to witness the panoramic views of the scenic Himalayan range. During the high season, to avoid air traffic congestion, all flights to Lukla will be operated from Manthali airport in the Ramechap district.
The flight from Ramechhap to Lukla is considered safer and more reliable compared to a direct flight to Lukla. After breakfast at Buddha Lodge, we begin our journey to Phakding village which involves a gentle climb up across the Sherpa villages.
On the second day of the Everest view trail, we trek to Monjo village, encountering several ascents and descents along the way. Upon arrival, we visit the Sagarmatha National Park office to check in and pay the require fees. Continuing our trek, we follow the riverbed to Dovan, where multiple rivers converge.
After crossing the Hillary Bridge, we begin a steep ascent towards Namche Bazaar. Along this route, treats you to the magnificent views of Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8,516m). Today, we walk from Thame to Kongde Lodge offers stunning views and a challenging yet rewarding experience. From Thame, you’ll start with a gradual ascent towards the west, following the Bhote Koshi River. The trail passes through rugged terrain, with occasional steep sections and rocky paths.
As you trek further, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, including views of Kongde Peak and other Himalayan giants. In terms of altitude and terrain, it’s essential to pace yourself and acclimatize properly.

We trek back to Lukla bazaar using the same mountain trail we took on the ascent, marking the final day. Upon reaching Lukla Lodge, we freshen up and have the opportunity to explore the bustling markets of Lukla.
Our guide from Gokyo Agency will reconfirm the return flight to Kathmandu for the next morning. In the evening, guests can treat their hiking crew to a special dinner as a token of appreciation for their support throughout the trek.
We take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, we will transfer to the office. In the afternoon, you can either go shopping or request a guided tour of Kathmandu at an additional cost. This marks the end of the trip.

Answer: Weather in the Himalayas is uncertain which we cannot predict. Therefore, the rate of fight delay and cancellation is high at Lukla. If this happens then you will be boarded on the flight tomorrow and you have to spend an extra night at Lukla Airport (if you are returning to Kathmandu) at Ktm (if you are going to Lukla). A helicopter rescue flight is possible to use depending on the weather. So, we recommend you allocate a couple of extra days after your Everest trek so that you will not miss your international flight back.
